Practical information

Arrival at the Hôtel François 1er:

To reach the hotel by car, nothing could be easier! We highly recommend this route, because of the outdated GPS devices:

• Arrival in La Rochelle: head towards "Parking Verdun",
• Drive along the parking lot and leave it on your right,
• Arriving at the stop sign: turn right onto Rue Chaudrier,
• Take the second left onto Rue Fleuriau. Please note that this street is a one-way street, except for those with special needs: you are allowed to travel while staying at the hotel.
• Next, continue on Rue Fleuriau, then turn right onto Rue St Yon,
• Then, take the first right onto Rue Bazoges (the hotel is located at 13 Rue Bazoges).

La Vélodyssée

A cycling route of over 1,200 km, the Vélodyssée follows the Atlantic coast, connecting Roscoff to Hendaye. It crosses beaches, marshes, coastal forests, and bustling ports, with a mostly flat route, often on dedicated lanes and easy access.

Getting there from our hotel couldn't be easier! Simply follow Rue Bazoges to Rue du Palais, and embark on your journey! The Vélodyssée passes just 50m from the hotel.

La Vélo Francette

This 600km cycle route connects Normandy to La Rochelle, passing through the Mayenne Valley, the Poitou countryside, and the Marais Poitevin. La Vélo Francette offers a rural route, punctuated by authentic villages, rivers, and peaceful greenways.

To reach it from our hotel, nothing could be simpler! Follow Rue Bazoges towards Rue du Palais, then turn left and head towards La Grosse Horloge (The Big Clock). Once you reach the Old Port, turn left again and follow the port to the Tourist Office of La Rochelle. The starting point of La Vélo Francette is there, less than 500m from the hotel.
